Add live tracking option / Find currently active users
Our cycle club is building a web page to track the positions of our riders every few minutes, so anyone with the right permission, on the ride or not, can see where all riders are.
Our Android users will broadcast their location continuously with the Android Osmand app, but the iPhone version does not do it, and anyway Komoot is better.
Osmand is open-source, so the live tracking is an open standard. Adding this code to just the Komoot client would allow Komoot to drive these webpages just like Osmand, and let users choose the best client app.
thanks a lot for this interesting idea!
We’ll see what we can do to implement it. Should there be any plans here, we’ll post a respective update.
Please mind that we are unable to give you exact dates here. If you have entered the idea or voted vor it, you’ll be informed via mail as soon as we have updated the status here.
Just wanted to add +1 for this. I forced to use Komoot only for planning, but would love to use the navigation feature as well. My family needs to know where I am while mountain biking -> I can't use Kamoot because the only location sharing app doesn't work in the background, but has to be in focus (on iOS device) for it to share my ride (in real time) with my family.
I support this. If implemented, it would be good be be able to set update frequency. Say, every minute or every hour.
Hello Koomot Team,
Happy New Year !

Add GPS options. Have a live gps tracking option where friends and or rescue can track and locate the phone
If gps tracking can be done with out the need for phone provider data this would be a fantastic saftey option.
If you could have none data use gps friends family and potentially rescue services could track progress and location
Genial wäre es, wenn wie bei der App 'Find Friends' die aktuelle Position von Freunden lokalisiert werden könnte. Das sollte durch eine einfache Verknüpfung möglich sein und würde die vorgenannte App obsolet machen.
